Rules of engagement

The rules.

Seven rules keep TigerHacks fair for every team. Read them carefully before competition day.

  1. HackerRank submissions

Submissions and grading are facilitated via HackerRank. Accepted languages: C++, Java, and Python.

  2. Permitted resources

Official language documentation and general tutorial sites are permitted. Q&A forums (e.g., StackOverflow) are not permitted.

  3. No outside assistance

No outside assistance from anyone not authorized to provide help, including other teams and chaperones.

  4. Hidden tests, no partial credit

Example I/O cases are provided, but grading uses hidden tests. Correctness requires passing all tests; no partial credit.

  5. Exact output

Output must match exactly (formatting, whitespace, and newline characters).

  6. Tie-breaker

Tie‑breaker: time taken to solve problems. Manage your time carefully.

  7. Equipment

    One laptop per team.
